Fan Girl: Vegas Golden Knights

My New Favorite Kind of Blade (Sorry Wesley)

OMG It's almost Knight Time! I have never been as into a sport as I am hockey right now! The Vegas Golden Knights came along and shattered expectations and goals in their inaugural season and I feel like I can reach out and touch hockey season right now since it is so close to upon us. I won't do a full play by play of the season (even though that's all we want to talk about now in the Valley) but I will direct you to my Twitter where I live tweet EVERY EMOTION, 0 filter while I'm having them. And yes, it is me mostly praising Fleury, the goal post, praying to the hockey Gods and appreciating...well everyone. LOL

I have become WILDLY superstitious since starting to watch VGK. I now HAVE GOT to have on a pair of pink flamingo socks! For those of you who don't know, we have a lovely Victory Flamingo that gets thrown onto the ice to get the energy right for some good gameplay and to celebrate a win. I'm honestly probably going to get this beautiful thing tattooed on me here soon because that's how deep my fandom is right now. We actually have an entire crew of VGK super fans that are like celebrities to us now. I look for them during every game and keep an eye out for their tweets. I'll get a post up with them the next chance I get.

Right now, we have our Rookie Faceoff going on right before our full squad hits the ice for practice and then PRESEASON (preseason counts as officially hockey for me). Here is what I know about our upcoming games according to NHL.com :

HOPEFULLY - this is where we will start our road to the cup again and bring it home in our 2nd season. We will have to wait and see what the Knights and the hockey Gods have in store for us this season. I am super stoked to see that first official puck drop and hope as many of you reading this as possible get a chance to come to town to watch a game here in one of our local sports bars, or at a sponsored watch party. Last year, all of the watch parties were completely free and the energy was ELECTRIC! The hardest part was having to stand out in the sun during the finals. They did let us in to watch inside of T-Mobile arena during our last away game @ WSH, but they can't do that every time since they still hold regular events there. I will make a post on one of my social media channels as soon as watch party info is released and we know if it is free or not.

One last thing - Vegas is LIT during our home games! Stop by my Tickets page to see what is happening in our club scene during our home games and get your tickets to your favorite choice for after party.

Do you have a pre - post - or during game ritual? Share yours with me down in the comments below.

Throw Back: That one time I competed in a pageant

Once upon a time, what seems like a long time ago I decided I wanted to be a beauty queen. It was definitely an experience I will never forget and I finally have the chance to tell you all about it! I've always known that I wanted to help people in some way, and one day it dawned on me if I had a crown that would definitely give me a much louder voice to speak on issues I thought were important. So, I went searching for what I thought was the best pageant for me and I landed on Miss Nevada USA 2016. The only thing I knew about pageants at this point was from the Miss Congeniality movie and what I heard about from my cousin's social media pages. So from that, I thought it was going to be a breeze...PSYCH! It was probably the most grueling process of self-discovery I've ever put myself through. My first step was figuring out how much all of this was going to cost. For me, it was a ridiculous amount that I just wasn't going to be able to make at my day job in...

Vegas Bound: January 2020 Guide

Welcome to 2020! May this year bring you all the things you have set out for yourself. Hopefully, that includes lots of Vegas time. This list does not include everything that is happening here regularly like the Cirque du solei shows, the daily free shows, sights and things like that. I've just got the big and noteworthy things that are here for the moment and all the club events I could stand to type up. If you are planning a vacation or staycation, book your hotel with my team. We keep rates 20%-30% off nationally advertised rates. I also have rates in cities outside of Las Vegas, so check with us for all of your hotel needs. As of right now, I'm looking at weekend rates of $73 per night+ taxes and fees at the Planet Hollywood for their standard rooms (Ultra Hip King). If a budget is not how you do Vegas, I recommend the Ultra Panorama Suite at $676 per night +taxes and fees. Check the rates for your travel dates, and book with me today. Here's what we have going...

Mask Monday: Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask

It is that wonderful time again where my skin is acting all the way out of control. This time it could be my horrible quarantine diet, stress, hormones, my 2-year-old touching God knows what then rubbing my face...the list of possibilities is endless. To combat that I'm going in the Mix, Mask & Hydrate 6 piece kit from Peter Thomas Roth that we got at an incredible value price. Today, I am tapping into the Cucumber Gel Mask. It is an Extreme Detoxifying Hydration mask that is instantly refreshing (I keep mine in the refrigerator), cooling, and a moisturizing calming gel that helps soothe dry irritated skin. I've used this mask before, and know that it works wonders on my sometimes overly sensitive skin combination skin. I feel like my skin issues are coming from clogged pores and stress, so the detoxifying bit will really help me get to the smooth skin I just know exists underneath all this drama. So, to start off I like to use a gentle cleanser to get any make...

Beauty Moment: Belle Beauty 'Shero - Shadow Stick'

Shadow sticks are starting to become a necessity in my makeup go-bag. Most days when I'm getting ready something happens and I'm left with 1/2 the time I need to finish my makeup, or even worse I have to finish in the car when I get there! For those kinds of moments, I LOVE shadow sticks. This Shadow Stick from Belle Beauty by Kim Gravel in Pink Champagne is the latest edition to my go-bag. We got this one in a kit from QVC, and I'm sure you can order directly from the Belle Beauty website . I am loving this right now because it's such a quick and easy way to level up my look by adding that shimmer I love to my lid and the easy to use stick means I can level up anywhere at any time. It has a really easy to apply soft consistency that you can just blend with your finger or go in with brushes if you feel the need. It has a really simple twist up top so you'll never need a sharpener, and I know they say to never do this, but I twisted it all the way to see...

Vegas Bound: Christmas In Vegas 2019

Christmas in Las Vegas is really SUCH a magical thing. The Las Vegas strip sprinkles a little bit of holiday magic all over EVERYTHING, and it is so beautiful! All of our usual attractions, like the Bellagio Fountain bring the Christmas cheer with holiday music playing this season. I'd LOVE for the world to start looking at Vegas during the Holiday season, so here's a couple of things to be aware of, what's going on and my recommendations. SO, Vegas is not really less busy during the Holiday Season.  So don’t expect any holiday discounts or extra space it will be the general amount of crowded...if not a bit more! Buffets and full course meal/dine-in options are going to be a little more expensive b/c they are going to be WAY more decked out than usual. It’s cold as all hell here to me right now it’s like in the 50s all week so bundle up for that. But there are SO many things happening, most things are going to be open and at its usual hours except for like our l...

The Keto Experience: Start Here

Eggs make the world go 'round We have been trying out the Keto diet for a little while and the results have been phenomenal! It's definitely a life choice kind of change. You can't just wake up and decide to be Keto today and forget about it tomorrow. It requires a commitment to see results. Forget about cheat days, and make a serious choice to lose weight or get on a path towards better health. Here's the best way to start a keto diet in my opinion and my go-to meal. Like with every new thing you do to your body, it's always good to start with a cleanse. With Keto, I like to do a 3 day cleanse with a simple keto friendly diet to start. My cleanse includes:  An Infused Water Cleanse Removing ALL other beverages for 3 days Keto Basic Diet My Infused Water:  A lemon water cleanse is always a good start to a diet, or any cleanse. But for me, it's SO bitter. I SERIOUSLY can't stand it without some honey or sugar or something. So, to m...

I'M BACK!! 2021 - VEGAS - TWITCH - AND BEYOND

Hello everyone and WELCOME BACK to the Nikki On Vegas Blog! I am SO happy to be back and have so much to update you on!  I have been away for a LONG WHILE and wanted to come back with an update on all things NikkiOnVegas. Last time I was here we were talking about my Disney+, Netflix, and Hulu favorites, What's going on in Vegas, and how the death of George Floyd and resulting Black Lives Matter protests, national response and more was affecting me personally. So let's dig right back in on all that plus what I've been up to since the last time we spoke... VEGAS: We've definitely been on a wild ride. As a city built on tourism, we had a HARD time with the shutdown and now trying to re-build...but good news Vegas lovers - All signs point to a rapidly returning Vegas! It's definitely different now, as we've got to do our part to keep everyone safe but it is still VERY Vegas. Social Distancing and masks are very much enforced and minimized capacity has been strict...

MTV Movie Awards 2019: Vegas Faves and Looks I Love

Any MTV Awards show has such a huge place in my heart! I just remember being young and thinking how exciting it was to watch all my favorite celebrities getting trophies. All the performances and then getting to talk to my friends about it at school the next day! Well, now we have Twitter to instantly connect to everyone, see behind the scenes, all the processes and relive every moment we loved whenever we want! It's a whole new world now, and I'm carving out my little slice with my first live event coverage blog! I loved the low key theme of this year's show was to love yourself, dream big and be kind to people! Jada MOVED me so much when she spoke about those internal trails, and The Rock is always such a beautiful source of inspiration. While all of that was amazing and beautiful, what I'm here to talk about today is Red Carpet Love! Here's a quick list of the looks I loved, and who we love to see here in Vegas. Jada took this year's trail blazer with t...

Skin Deep: Lancome Teint Idole

Know what your favorite foundation is? I thought I did...and then Influenster sent me a lovely care package that they call a VoxBox, filled with Lancome products that rocked my world. That being said...I have new favorites. I don't even know if it's fair to use the word favorite anymore now that they change with every new package I receive! I'm calling them my top 10s now, and my Lancome Teint Idole products are at the top. Concealer : The concealer I got is Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage in 435 Suede (W). This concealer didn't come here to play games! I used it on my under eye area to brighten as well as cover up some redness from blemishes and acne scars. The product is powerful, so a little bit went a long way. On my under eye, I typically have issues with concealers being thick and ending up super cakey looking under my eyes, not this concealer! Camouflage is the perfect name. It slipped in, covered up my dark circles and was completely unno...
