Mom Life in Quarantine: Toddler Craft Time - Hidden Messages Water Coloring

Social Distancing and Quarantine with my wonderful 2-year-old has been an experience so far! I am a stay at home mom, so having him home with me every day is nothing new, but what IS new is how quickly he's growing, learning and developing new skills. Almost faster than I can keep up. What entertained him all day pre quarantine now won't hold his attention for more than 10 minutes. So I've got to get more creative in the ways that I keep HIM creative. Here's where we are today: Hidden messages to be revealed while water coloring! So, to start we had to work with what we had: The back of his coloring pages he'd already scribbled to his enjoyment White Crayon Cups/bowls Water Food Coloring/watercolors A paintbrush  Fresh paper is hard to come by in our household, so we are making it work with some recycled paper. I took the white crayon and wrote his name, drew some shapes I know he would recognize, the uppercase and lowercase letters I want to focus o...

Streaming: Disney and Pixar's 'Onward'

Disney+ dropped some blessings for us during this quarantine and I am so grateful! Since Social Distancing made it hard for us to safely go see 'Onward' in theatres when it came out last month, Disney and Pixar gave us a quarantine present and dropped it for us to stream from home WAY earlier than expected on Disney+! With 50 Million or more of us holding on tightly to our Disney+ subscriptions, let's all watch this one with or without the kids. IMDB “While we’re looking forward to audiences enjoying our films on the big screen again soon, given the current circumstances, we are pleased to release this fun, adventurous film to digital platforms early for audiences to enjoy from the comfort of their homes,” said Dan Scanlon (Director, “Onward”) and Kori Rae (Producer, “Onward”).¹ We've been socially distancing in my household for a bit longer than nationally directed, so we weren't able to see this in theaters. I play a cute Disney game with my son, ...

Disney+ Watchlist: Throw It Back to Gummi Bears!

I just hit my own personal Disney+ nostalgic gold mine with our current binge favorite, Gummi Bears! I don't have any idea how old I was when I watched this, and I didn't remember a single thing from the episodes we watched before...but I was SURE singing the theme song at the top of my lungs the second it started! Disney has given me such a beautiful moment to share my childhood with my son! Our usual TV time consists of me putting on something child-friendly, pulling out my laptop and getting back to work while shouting out whatever prompt the characters are looking for. But right now, with Gummi Bears, I have been so wonderfully present in the moment with him that it's beautiful. Not only that, but now that I'm doing a whole little Disney series on the Blog it's given us the opportunity to do some crafts together, learn more about colors and coloring and find out what colors are our favorites! Right now, my young King is favoring Red. We'll se...

Let's Go Sailing: Cruising With a Toddler

Cruising with Carnival has become a yearly thing for my mom and I, and this year we extended the tradition a generation by bringing my 1-year-old with us. We went for a 4 day, Halloween cruise from Long Beach with 2 stops - Catalina Island and Ensenada, Baja California. Here's a rundown on going on a cruise with a toddler! First off, we drove from Las Vegas all the way to the Long Beach Terminal so the first leg of our trip was a 4+ hour car ride. I made sure we were fully stocked for the ride over so we wouldn't have to make too many stops and make the ride any longer. Turns out we didn't need anything I packed for the ride because he slept for about 3 1/2 hours and was completely content with his tablet, a juice box, and some cheez-its when he woke up. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️ We decided to check our bags instead of dragging them through the ship because we just knew we wanted to grab some food and explore before going back to the room. That means we had to have everythi...

Kid Friendly Vegas: Kangamoo

I have a one-year-old! Life is BANANAS! To celebrate my young King's first birthday, we took him to Kangamoo indoor playground. Here's how it went. This place is HUGE. I was shook once I walked in and tried to find the bathroom through what felt like miles of padded kid-wonderland. I didn't do too much exploring of the big kid area, and I made it a point not to go when they were having a special event but according to their facebook page, this place is lit! Every Thursday 4:30-5:30 they have a character come by and play around with the kids (perfect photo op), Wednesday is arts and crafts day 10AM-12, Balloon Animals and face paint every Friday 2-4, and Musical Story Time on Tuesday 10AM-12. All other times Mon - Fri 9am-7pm and Sat-Sun 9AM-5PM is open play time. Now, back to my nugget. I think he had a BLAST! This was his first time playing outside of our home and having so many options for new things to touch. It was ADORABLE. His attention span is one thing ...

A Funeral for 2018

I LOVE New Years. Not just because I live in Las Vegas, and it's absolutely amazing to celebrate here, but because I love the energy. So many people take the New Year as their shot to better themselves. To strive for goals they thought were too big earlier in the year. Nothing is too big, no dream too far, no car too expensive. Lots of us take our goals, our dreams, and hopes and send them out to the universe and anyone who will listen with so much love, excitement, appreciation, and gratitude for the life that could be and that puts us all in a place to take leaps and bounds towards it. Energetically, this is a beautiful time to be aware of all the possibilities for everyone! USUALLY, I'm right there with the life changers. Talking about a New Year and a New Me. Ready to make resolutions to eat healthily, stop smoking, get more fit, make more money. You know, whatever my focus is at the time. But this time, I have a new plan for myself. First off-it's to reflect . ...

A Day Outdoors: Mount Charleston

Beat The Heat Casino got you down? Take a trip to Mount Charleston, breath the fresh mountain air and super double bouns get out of the crazy valley heat. If you are staying on the strip, it's just a short 45min-hour drive. I don't recommend getting an Uber here because service is NON-EXISTANT up here, and I can't guarantee you can get back. This is definitely a "Take a Drive" kind of trip.  I love it up here because it is SO beautiful. It's like a whole different world from the desert you have to drive through to get to Vegas and our natural habitat here. And the vibes are nothing like you get in the city. You can actually breathe up here. This day it was about 25 degrees cooler than it was in the Valley.  If you come through on a day when it's rainy or just rained up in the mountains, you will see waterfalls ALL OVER the place as you drive up the mountain! Be careful though, there are lots of hazards up here that are double dan...
